SETTINGS
You can change the game settings via the main menu.You can change the player settings but these won't be relevant as your mesh and character are set b the gametype.
Unreal dungeons settings puts your game settings on high detail by default.If you have a slow computer you might want to put it back to low detail settings BUT the game experience will be considerably diminished due to the abundance of special effects in the game.


KEY BINDINGS
Before playing, you need to go to the settings menu to configure some keys necessary in-game.

  • MENU
    Takes you to the game menu.where you can make important things ,such as changing character class,checking or improving stats,etc...
  • next/previous item
    These keys let you cycle through the items (inventory) owned by your character. You can use the item with the alternate fire button, unless you are handing a weapon that requires both hands (like the bow). In which case you can't use any item at the same time.
  • next/previous spell
    For magic classes. These commands let you cycle through the different spells you can use. They are used as the items with alternate fire .
    You can't use an item and a spell at the same time.Selecting a spell will remove any item you are holding.
    It will also make you holster your weapon as you need both hands to cast a spell (with most classes).
  • Use Magic
    This lets you use the selected spell. you can keep it pressed for building up the effect. The spell is fired on release.
  • Change weapon mode
    This command lets you change the mode of use of your weapon. It is only available on a limited number of weapons and generally requires you to have a particular talent/ability. (ex: high level bowman can shoot 3 arrows)



CONSOLE COMMANDS
  • "Menu" : Sends you to the menu page, equals to the "menu" key in key bindings.
  • "Third": switch between 1st and 3rd person view(works in network).Caution: in third person view, the aiming is always parallel to the ground.



CREATING YOUR CHARACTER
There are 6 races to choose from to create your character.
Each race offers different characteristics which impact on the gameplay.
After selecting your race you can select your affiliation to one of the two main cults oif the planet (AUTONOMIST,BELLICIST or Neutral). Then according to your race and alignment you can choose your profession which will further alter your caracteristics.

Caracteristics
  • FORCE : this affects among other things the damage you deal with melee or projectile weapons or blows.
  • INTELLIGENCE : this affects among other things the total amount of mana you can use to cast your spells.
  • KNOWLEDGE : this affects the knowledge you have of the ancient technologies as well as the level of trust that your God-AI places in you as a leader.Used for summoning the old technologies among other things.
  • BODY : this affects your maximum health as well as your fatigue resistance.
  • dexterity : this affects your accuracy with long range weapons as well as your speed and other things.


Affiliation
The alignment determines the loyalty of the players among themselves.
Unreal Adventures is primarily a coop game ,so players have to work together regardless of their affiliation (this is the result of the 'fragile peace' established between the two communities, outside of the main city-enclaves both parties have theoretically no reason to fight).
However at high levels the competition can sometime become extreme and sometimes the GOD-AI can order some of its subjects to eliminate the other faction when they can become a menace.

At low levels, the bots follow the human players regardless of their affiliation, at high level they start to regroup between characters of the same faction, high level bots will also be less likely to follow players of a much lower level and will rather explore the level by themselve.

Karma


The karma variable represents your behaviour in relation to one of the two affiliation.
When it is in positive numbers it means that your actions are compatible with the autonomist faction.

When it is in the negative numbers it means that your actions are compatible with the bellicist faction.
Karma varies according to the opponents that you kill and the actions that you achieve.


Experience / Level / Talents
Independantly of your karma,your EXPERIENCE (score) increase everytime you do something to advance the scenario or when you kill enemies.
Every time you reach a certain value your character LEVEL will increase.
Every 5 level you can increase your caracteristics.
Every 3 level you can potentially learn new TALENTS.
Some classes offer talents at the beginning of first level.
Talents give each player some distinctive abilities depending on their class and race.
